US politics became a bit scarier to me, but also a bit more understandable, after reading this book. She describes some of the wealthiest people in the US, and how they are using their money to influence politics and further their libertarian agendas. They seek to use the media, academic institutions and even the judiciary to further their economic, political and social objectives. The use of individual wealth to influence politics is perhaps one of the greater flaws of US democracy.
